Christmas 2004 newsletter
Hi

Another 6 months has slipped past and I feel more out of control than ever. I have all these plans to be more organized, to have a great routine going on at home, get to the gym and read to the kids and send a monthly mail and so many things. I feel like it’s just been this whirlwind of days and not too much has been accomplished.

August

Had my carpets lifted and now have parquet floors done throughout the house. had to go and stay at Linda and then Claire’s place while the floors were being done. Love the new look it feels so much cleaner. Got myself a new pc and new photo printer.

September

Went to another scrapping university with teachers from the States. Went to Ballito for the school holidays and had a great time at the sea.

October

We had the Cape Town cousins for a long weekend. Kiara and Devin knew nothing about it and we got them to the airport; supposedly to collect a work colleague of mine. They were thrilled to see Michael and Samantha. We re-did another bathroom and then discovered that we need a new geyser.

Nov

Christmas parties filled this month. I gave the hairdresser carte blanche and got my hair cut and streaked. Went to the pantomime. I found out by chance that I am insulin resistant and I am on medication and a strict diet. Very boring but I would not like it to develop into diabetes. Prize giving was great. Devin didn’t get any special award but did well. Kiara got 6 distinctions. Tarryn passed everything fine but was not very happy with a C average.

Dec

Had an interesting month interviewing for new staff and also getting the figures for my conversion to permanent staff. I will be contracting until the end of February. Had fun watching the gold price going up this month. I learnt my lesson last time when I promised the kids a trip to Mauritius when gold got to $350. This time I just kept quiet although I am planning to take them to Europe in July. We spent a very nice long weekend boating and relaxing at the Vaal

It’s Devin’s birthday today and I woke the kids up before I came to work so that he could get his gifts. He got a proper racing BMX bike and the latest Guinness Book of world records from me. Tarryn got him night vision binoculars and some spying gadget. Kiara gave him a joint Christmas and Birthday present; a remote controlled speed boat.

I am at work until 1pm and then off to prepare for Devin’s birthday supper.

Thanks for all the mail during the year.

Hope you have a great Christmas and a very happy New Year.

Lots of love
